Is It Twins?

We have been trying to take the prospect of twins in stride and really haven't tried to think about it too much. We don't want to get our hopes up that it will be twins only to find out that it's only one baby (not that having one would be a disappointment by any means). We both have been asked numerous times how many we think there are and my stock answer is one, but to be honest I don't have any idea. Well, from Thursday night when we went to bed to Friday morning, Allison suddenly got bigger and it wasn't a matter of you can barely notice or anything like that, when you saw her you could really tell. Which made us wonder a little more if it really is twins or not. Well, we have a week until we find out and we will be sure to post about the big news.

We had a pretty eventful weekend. Saturday morning we went to the College Basketball Experience at the Sprint Center with some friends and spent almost 2 and a half hours there. It was the first time we had been and it was a lot of fun. We discovered that I could dunk on a 9' goal and that Allison has a 16" vertical jump (which was the same vertical that I had). You could play on full courts, have a three point shooting contest and pretend you are doing a sports broadcast (be careful when you think you aren't being recorded, it will indeed show up on the replay on the TV behind you, right Mike?).

For the most part we have been putting off preparing the nursery, mainly because it's so far away, but also partly due to just not being motivated to move stuff to the basement. Yesterday we determined that in order to prepare the nursery we needed to clean out our closet. We pulled out all of the clothes that we haven't worn any time recently to donate to Goodwill and came away with 81 articles of clothing. Now we have an idea of what kind of room we have to store stuff and that sort of thing and we pick up the crib and dresser next month.

We also needed to clean out the flower beds in the front of the house and rid them of all the weeds, we spent and hour and a half out there and almost got completely through 2 flower beds, we were nearly through the second bed when a neighbor came over to talk to us and by the time he left we just couldn't bring ourselves to finish, so that is still on the task list for next weekend along with taking in the Olympics. Anyways, thanks to everyone for voting so far, you still have another week to vote and we hope to hear from everyone in the comments.

I remember the morning I woke up and suddenly realized my belly had doubled in size overnight. I wanted to know what kind of cruel joke someone was playing on me but then I thought of the plus side that I really did look pregnant and people wouldn't think I was just gaining a little more weight. Remember to always looks at the positive side of things during this experience because your body is completely out of your control and the results can be traumatic. Just focus on the end result.

It was pretty exciting when I could look in the mirror and tell that I was really pregnant and not just putting on some pounds. However, now I have reached the point where none of my pants will button around this baby. I guess I have reached the point of maternity clothes, there is no turning back.
